TRANSPORTATION

Whether by road, rail, air or river barge, Crossett has all the above transportation options available for your business. U.S. Highways 82 and 425 are being widened to give Crossett business a 4-lane access to Interstate 20 at Monroe, Louisiana a short 50 miles south of Crossett. The Crossett Municipal Airport has 5,001’ runway where corporate jets and King Air’s routinely land. The Crossett Port maintains a 9’ channel and turning basin and has a warehouse, lay-down yard and room for additional buildings as needed. The Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi Railroad, which is owned by the Genoese and Wyoming Rail Line has connections to the Union Pacific and the Kansas City Southern Class 1 long-haul service providers just South of Crossett. The heavy presence of a variety of manufacturing industry in Crossett gives a reason for a large number of motor freight carriers to be in Crossett reducing the overall cost of moving raw materials and finished goods.

Crossett is home to serval world-class manufacturing companies supported by an extensive array of maintenance and repair businesses, as well as the utility and transportation infrastructure need to run a modern advanced manufacturing operation. From dunnage bags, Bio-diesel to Ultra-quilted Northern and Sparkle paper towels, the workforce in Crossett is up to the task. With more than $1 Billion invested in the Crossett area by local manufacturing over the past decade, the local workforce is working with the latest robotics and PLC technology available. Companies are also able to move their raw materials and finished goods in and out of Crossett by road, rail, air or river barge, making Crossett a great place to do business.

Other major manufacturers include Bemis Company producing multi-wall and small paper bags; Smurfit Stone Container producing paper tubes and cores; and Shipping Systems producing inflatable disposable bags.

SCHOOLS

The Crossett Public Schools serve almost 2,800 students in grades K-12, with North Central Accreditation district-wide. Home to the largest Adopt-a-School program in the U.S., Crossett schools offer many advanced programs and extracurricular activities for their students. A large percent of students seek higher education. The system is competitive in academics, as well as athletics.

MEDICAL

Ashley County Medical Center is a licensed 33-bed, Critical Access Hospital located in Crossett. ACMC has a 6 bed Critical Care Unit, 6 bed Labor/Delivery Unit, 8 bed Geriatric Psych Unit, 13 Med-Surg beds, 2 OR Suites, 1 Endoscopy Suite, 6 bed Day Surgery Suite, and 9 Emergency beds. In addition to hospital operations Ashley County Medical Center also operates a Home Health agency, a Health and Wellness Center, two Provider-Based Rural Health Clinics, and physician practices in Obstetrics, Family Practice, Oncology-Hematology, Psychiatry, and General Surgery. A Wound Care Clinic, Sleep Studies Clinic, Geriatric Psychiatry, and Intensive Outpatient Psychiatric unit are also operated through ACMC.
